Our Leaders and Staff

Posted August 20, 2013

Our community is named Holy Comforter because we are a community that is led by the Holy Spirit which has been given to us in our Baptism (Romans 8:14). God has called all of us to ministry, meaning that all of us have been given special gifts to use for the purpose of serving God and serving others. In our community, God has raised up some of us to be leaders in the exercise of ministry. Some of us are paid staff and some of us are volunteers. But all of us are united in God’s calling for us to be servant leaders, modeling God’s love for the world.

The Rev. Dr. Thomas Eoyang, Jr., Rector

Thomas appointed Priest in Charge of Holy Comforter in December, 2017, and was elected Rector in January 2020. He holds the degrees of Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry, both from Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, as well as a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both in literature. Prior to becoming an Episcopal priest he worked in the publishing industry.

Erin Sprague, Minister of Music

Erin joined the staff at Holy Comforter in 2010. A graduate of Neumann College and West Chester University, she is an accomplished pianist and organist. She and her husband have an adorable baby boy who is the most popular unofficial choir member in the parish.

Gail Morgan, Parish Administrator

Gail is in the office between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm Tuesday through Thursday. She has come out of retirement to serve as our Parish Administrator, having previously served when The Rev. Chris Moore, and then The Rev. Jonathan Mitchican were the rectors. Before coming to Holy Comforter, Gail was a Director of Development at The American College in Bryn Mawr, and was a junior high school teacher in science and English in Anchorage, Alaska. Gail has a Master of Science of Management degree from The American  College, and a B.A. in Education from Eastern Baptist University.
