Holy Week and Easter

Posted April 7, 2017

Join us as we celebrate the passion, death, and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

There are a number of special services during Holy Week. We invite you to come to as many as you can, whether you are a long time Christian, a seeker, or just curious. If you would like more information, please email us or call us at 610-789-6754.

Sunday, April 9 – Palm Sunday – Join us at either 8:00 am or 10:00 am as we celebrate the triumphal entry of Our Lord into Jerusalem and remember His passion. Palms will be blessed at both Masses. There will be a procession from the flagpole into the church at 10:00 am, as well as special music and a dramatic reading of the passion Gospel.

Thursday, April 13 – Maundy Thursday – 7:30 pm – This special service commemorates the Last Supper and marks the last moments Our Lord spent before His death. The service includes footwashing, stripping of the altar, and an altar of repose.

Friday, April 14 – Good Friday – Mass of the Presanctified at noon, Stations of the Cross at 7:30 pm.

Saturday, April 15 – Great Vigil of Easter – 8:00 pm – The oldest and most beautiful liturgy in the Christian tradition. Join us as we mark the movement from darkness into light, drawing the season of Lent to a close and entering the season of Easter. Mass is followed by ice cream sundaes in the Upper Parish Hall. All are welcome.

Sunday, April 16 – Easter Sunday – Our Easter Eucharist will be at 10:00 am with an Easter egg hunt for the kids to follow. Lots of celebration and special music. Morning Prayer will also be available at 8:00 am in the Chapel from the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.
